THE Story
For over half a century, Omnibus Studios has brought the European tradition of stained glass to the shores of Lake Michigan. As a full service architectural stained glass studio, we specialize in custom art glass and historic restoration. From small residential features to grand windows in places of worship, we will guide you every step of the way to make your vision a reality.
Established in 1973 by Artist and Master Craftsman Richard E. Hanley, Omnibus Studios creates and restores state-of-the-art stained glass windows for churches, homes, and corporations Hanley apprenticed under the late Andrew R. Maglia, (Maglia Studios, Detroit MI and Florence Italy). Maglia is a renowned stained glass artist and mosaicist of the 20th century. During his training with this master, Hanley learned many ancient stained glass techniques, which have been the foundation of all of Omnibus Studios’ work.
Over the past 50 years, Hanley has continued to innovate, developing and perfecting his own distinct style. And now the legacy continues as Omnibus Studios expands to train the next generation of artisans in the tradition and the art of stained glass.
