January 2001 - Custom Art Glass
In 2001, our studio completed a series of custom stained-glass windows for St. Rita Catholic Church in Clarklake, Michigan. The primary window in the series (pictured above) is titled: “The Landing of Noah’s Ark” from the Genesis flood narrative. The initial vision for this window was to capture the celebration experience after 40 days and 40 nights aboard the ark.
In an article by the Detroit Free Press in 2011, which showcased the Michigan Stained Glass Census - a project of Michigan State University Museum, our Noah’s Ark window was the featured image with the caption: Not all stained glass in the census is old. “Noah’s Ark,” at St. Rita Catholic Church in Clarklake, is from 2001. The window was one of five selected as 5 cool stained-glass windows in Michigan. The other studios that made it into the top five were Detroit’s Stained Glass Works, Tiffany Glass & Decorating Co. and Louis Tiffany Studios. [1]
